New York Leaders of Tomorrow Scholarship

Effective with the 2008-09 academic year the New York Leaders of Tomorrow (LOT) Scholarship will be jointly administered by the New York State Lottery and the New York State Higher Education Services Corporation (HESC).

The New York State Lottery will continue to select scholarship winners, notify nominated students, and handle all inquiries from high schools and the general public. In addition, Lottery will be responsible for decisions on appeals, extenuating circumstances, or deferments.

HESC will be responsible for the administration and payment of the LOT awards, employing policies and procedures similar to those used in the administration of the Scholarships for Academic Excellence. In addition, HESC will handle inquiries from colleges and universities regarding the certification of eligibility of LOT recipients and the payment of LOT awards. Further, HESC will address inquiries from recipients regarding payment of their LOT awards.
