New York State Flight 3407 Memorial Scholarship Established
Effective for the 2009-10 academic year the NYS Flight 3407 Memorial Scholarship program (CF) has been established to help the surviving family members of those who perished in the crash of Continental Flight 3407 in Clarence, NY on February 12, 2009.
Award Amount
Flight 3407 Memorial Scholarships provide funds to help meet the cost of attending college. The award covers up to four years of full-time undergraduate study (or five years in an approved five-year bachelor’s degree program) and includes the following components:
- At a public college or university (SUNY or CUNY): Actual tuition and mandatory educational fees; actual room and board charged to students living on campus or an allowance for room and board for commuter students; and allowances for books, supplies and transportation.
- At a private institution: An amount equal to SUNY four-year college tuition and average mandatory education fees ( or the student’s actual tuition and fees, whichever is less) and allowances for room and board, books, supplies and transportation.
In all cases, the total of all aid received by the recipient cannot exceed the student's cost of attendance.

The TAP Payment Roster (HE8069), Remittance Advice (HE8071), Full Student Status Listing (HE8392) and Abbreviated Student Status Listing (HE8304) record layouts have been revised to include the Flight 3407 Memorial Scholarship, and are available in the Forms and Bulletins section of HESCweb Transaction Processing. NYS Flight 3407 Memorial Scholarship information is also available on the Customized Report function found on HESCWeb. A user ID and password is required to access these documents. The Flight 3407 Memorial Scholarship program code is "50" and has "CF" as its literal.
Consolidated Scholarship Roster (CSR)
As with all NYS Memorial Scholarships administered by HESC, the Flight 3407 Memorial Scholarship is to be included on the Consolidated Scholarship Roster (CSR). Its layout is similar that of the traditional TAP roster and it is the certification document for scholarships that were previously paid manually. The NYS Flight 3407 Memorial Scholarship is to be processed and paid in the same manner as the NYS Flight 587 Memorial scholarship. CSR rosters are generated on the same schedule as TAP rosters and must be certified by the Certifying Officers.

Online Access to Consolidated Scholarship Roster and Remittance Advice
HESC provides online access to each school’s Consolidated Scholarship Roster – SU8069 (CSR) and Consolidated Scholarship Remittance Advice – SU8071 (CSRA). CSRs may be viewed and printed from HESCweb in the Reports tab of the Grants and Scholarships Transaction Processing center. A user ID and password is required to access these documents.
