If requested by the school, HESC also performs an online, real-time credit check and directs parents to submit a requested loan amount. If the borrower's credit is approved, HESC sends a response file with guarantee information to schools and lenders.

For schools and lenders who choose to participate in our full-service PLUS e-MPN process, borrowers can complete their e-MPN , complete their PLUS credit check, and fill in their requested loan amounts in one session, fulfilling the Department of Education requirement for active confirmation.
