TAP Coach Launched

Erika Terwilliger

The drive to provide financial aid professionals with up-to-date and easily accessed information about TAP, other New York state grant programs, and a variety of financial aid topics, inspired HESC to launch TAP Coach.

The detailed information contained in TAP Coach makes it the perfect supplement to the existing online Programs, Policies and Procedures Manual. In fact, many of the topics in TAP Coach link to additional and/or more detailed information in the manual.

Developed with the help of school focus groups, financial aid officers, bursars, registrars, admissions officers, and staff from HESC and other New York state agencies, TAP Coach is dynamic and will grow as the needs of the financial aid community change.

Feedback from users has been very positive. As Debra Arena, a financial aid professional from Briarcliffe College, stated:

“TAP Coach has proven to be a comprehensive and utilitarian tool that assists me with TAP administration. It eases the use of the TAP manual through its indexed format and its links to related content in the manual.

“TAP Coach’s alphabetical organization lends itself to finding timely answers to specific questions. It allows for immediate retrieval of vital information, making for a vastly more productive, efficient, and satisfying work experience.

“I am pleased to say that TAP Coach is an invaluable resource and asset for all financial aid officers and TAP administrators. I whole heartedly endorse its implementation and use in today’s rapidly paced and changing information age.”
