Report HE8498, the Accelerated Study Term Report, is posted on HESCWeb and will be available at the end of each term’s certification period. This report is only available for schools that have continuous enrollment and whose regular calendar allows students to attend three semesters or four trimesters in a calendar year.
To view the report visit the Transaction Center, select Transaction Processing / Grants and Scholarships / Reports / Standard Reports.
Reminder to Evaluate Eligibility
Schools are reminded that students’ eligibility for this additional TAP payment must be evaluated each time an accelerated award is sought. The first accelerated term that must be evaluated is the third semester of the 2006-07 academic year or the fourth trimester of the 2006-07 award year.
The eligibility requirements for accelerated study are:
- Students must have 24 credits or more in the prior two semesters (or three trimesters).
- Effective April 1, 2007, the 24 credits may include three equivalent credits of remedial work in each of the prior two semesters (or two equivalent credits per trimester) not to exceed six remedial credits total. Schools may use 2006-07 terms to evaluate an accelerated term starting after the April 1 effective date.
- Transfer credits cannot be used.
- Credits must be applicable to the program in which the student was enrolled when the credits were earned.
- Credits must be earned from the same institution where the student is seeking to accelerate their study.
- Credits may be earned in any combination; however, the student must be enrolled full time in the term preceding the accelerated term.
