2009 Poverty Level Guidelines

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has published its 2009 poverty guidelines, effective January 23, 2009.

These new guidelines must be used by lenders and holders to replace the income figures that currently exist on the Economic Hardship Deferment Request form for borrowers who apply for an economic hardship deferment on or after January 23, 2009.

In addition, these guidelines are used when assessing a borrower’s eligibility for a total and permanent disability.

Direct questions regarding this guidance to the Office of Regulatory Compliance at 1-518-473-3986; toll free at 1-866-431-HESC (1-866-431-4372), press 6; or by email at askpolicy@hesc.org
