On the Road with HESC
Schedule a HESC representative for your college plannning or financial aid event
From the Capital Region south to Metro New York City and Long Island, to the North Country and west to Oneonta, Jamestown and Olean, HESC representatives present State and federal college financial aid information to pre-college students and families at workshops and special events.
Earlier this year, customer relations representative Mike Turner crisscrossed the Metro New York and Long Island area and served hundreds of families by providing college financial aid information and FAFSA assistance at workshops and financial aid events. Mike’s visits included stops at Brooklyn Technical High School, the New York Urban League Young Professionals FAFSA Workshop, CUNY TRIO Educational Talent Search Program, among other visits. Additionally, Mike was featured on NY1 and YNN’s two-part “Money Matters” series about college financial aid and was a featured presenter at the Newsday College PrepTalk Webinar.
Pre-college services manager Joe Gorman visited Hoosick Falls High School and presented a college financial aid workshop to students and parents at their Junior/Underclassman Night. Other stops on Joe’s tour included a visit at the statewide Educational Forum for the NYS Office of Children and Family Services at Keuka College, the Penn York College Night in Olean and the Second Annual Sophomore Summit at the State University College at Oneonta.
Your school can be one of HESC’s scheduled stops during the 2012-2013 academic year For scheduling efficiencies and to accommodate as many requests as possible, we ask that you make your requests as early as possible as you plan your school counseling programming for the next academic year. Email your request to Joe at jgorman@hesc.ny.gov by September 15 to be included in our fall 2012 plans.
We look forward to visiting your students and families and helping them learn how they can plan for and pay for college.
