Dawn Langdon has been a Client Relations Manager at HESC for two years. In her role, Dawn works with colleges and universities in NYSFAAA Regions 2, 3 and 8 concerning loan processing training, TAP training and marketing of HESC’s products and services. Dawn brings eight years of financial aid experience to her position.
Dawn started in financial aid as a counselor at Alfred University, where she was responsible for freshmen file processing, the TAP process and HEOP/EOP program coordination. After Alfred University, she worked as a Senior Counselor at Rochester Business Institute (now known as the Everest Institute). As a Senior Counselor, Dawn was responsible for processing aid for all incoming students. In addition, she acted as a liaison between the Financial Aid and Admissions offices.
Following some time out of the financial aid community, Dawn began working as Assistant Director of Financial Aid at Keuka College. There her responsibilities included loan processing and coordination, verification of files, meeting with incoming and returning students, and packaging student aid awards. Dawn believes her time at Keuka contributed the most to her in-depth knowledge of the FFEL program.
Before coming to HESC, Dawn was named the Associate Director of Financial Aid for Student Services at the University of Rochester. This role consisted mainly of supervision of the Associate Counselor team, with a large emphasis on customer service. Coordination of the transfer and HEOP processes, the River Campus loan program, the campus Diversity Awareness Committee, and a seat on the Dean’s Cabinet rounded out the position.
Dawn is a proud alumnus of both SUNY Cortland and Alfred University, obtaining her Bachelor of Science degree in Economics/Management Science and her Master of Science in Education degree in College Student Development, respectively. In addition to her education, Dawn has participated in many conferences and training opportunities through NYSFAAA, EASFAA and NASFAA.
She looks forward to working with you and your students.
