Joanne HornJoanne Horn has worked at HESC for over 20 years. For the past 4 years, Joanne has been a Regional Service Manager providing training, support and expertise to schools throughout New York State. She prides herself on making certain that her schools have the most current information about HESC products, services and tools. As a result, many of her schools have adopted the most current HESC electronic processing tools.

Prior to her position as Regional Service Manager, Joanne was an advocate counselor, working closely with schools, lenders and student loan borrowers to develop the Advocate program. As an advocate counselor, Joanne encouraged students to stay in school and educated borrowers about their student loan repayment options. This targeted effort assisted borrowers in avoiding delinquency and default on their student loans.

Joanne led the pilot project for the Financial Awareness and Consumer Training for Students (FACTS) program. Today, FACTS provides training for students on the importance of financial responsibility, avoiding credit card debt, and managing student loans.

Joanne was instrumental in the development of many HESC online services, including Default Manager. She was the sole creator of “Understanding Credit” developed for Fordham University’s Financial Literacy curriculum.

Joanne also worked several years for the Bureau of Default Prevention.
