e-MPN

HESC gives financial aid administrators the advantage of using electronic Master Promissory Note (e-MPN) processing. The process is fast, efficient and accurate, and enables schools to search for all MPNs, valid MPNs, or cancelled MPNs.

No paper is required and edits are done as the student borrower enters data, eliminating follow-up on incomplete fields. Borrowers electronically sign the note by using their HESC PIN, and when the e-MPN is complete, the loan is guaranteed instantly if the school certification is on file. At any time students can visit the Mapping Your Future Web site (www.mapping-your-future.org) to complete an entrance interview.

With PLUS e-MPN, HESC offers graduate students and parents of undergraduate college students the fast, efficient option of filing electronically for a PLUS loan.

Guarantor and Lender Flow Options

With our flexible, effortless Guarantor Flow for MPN Processing option, schools send their school certification data to us first and HESC collects the MPN or e-MPN from the borrowers, or the borrower can initiate the process and HESC will contact the school for certification.

From start to finish, HESC controls the process for administrators and works with all of the lenders. Financial aid administrators can also choose the lender flow system, where the school sends data to lenders first. It’s their choice.

PLUS Credit Check

Instead of lenders obtaining the credit report for PLUS loans, HESC can perform that function — reducing loan processing time and improving communication between the school and graduate students and parents of undergraduate college students by serving as a single point of contact.

Online Real-Time Processing

With HESC’s online real-time processing, financial aid administrators can process certifications, guarantee requests and perform a variety of other functions more quickly and efficiently than ever before, while receiving instant guarantees and viewing student loan approvals immediately.

Web File Transfer

With HESC’sWeb file transfer system, financial aid administrators can exchange data with us quickly, efficiently and securely, 24-7. They can download our files in Excel format and upload multiple files to HESC simultaneously. No additional software is required for these processes.

Blanket Guarantee

Ordinarily, lenders wait to disburse funds until they receive a notice of guarantee from HESC. Blanket guarantee allows lenders to disburse FFEL, Stafford and PLUS loan funds before receiving our guarantee notice.

AltLoan Connection

AltLoan Connection provides financial aid administrators with the ability to certify, make application changes and corrections, and monitor alternative loans online.

This innovative mechanism displays alternative and federal loans associated with an individual borrower.

Administrators have the ability to choose how they manage their alternative loan workflow. Loans can either be individually certified online, or managed through a batch process utilizing their Financial Aid Management Systems.

Meteor, a Web-based online Student Loan Counseling Service, helps financial aid administrators better serve their students and their families by providing real time loan status inquiries.

HESC is the first guarantor in the nation to integrate loan data with Mapping Your Future exit interview information. All Meteor participants are committed to providing loan updates as they happen, as opposed to updating the database every 30-60 days. Meteor provides the most up-to-date loan information available.

This cutting-edge tool also helps students learn how to manage their loans after college and aggregates information from multiple data providers.
