Administrative Partners
HESC is working with a number of organizations to help administer the program, including:

- Commission on Independent Colleges and Universities
- New York State Financial Aid Administrators Association
- State University of New York
- City University of New York
- Association of Proprietary Colleges
In addition to the state awards, several other institutional GEAR UP programs have been renewed by the federal government, which include: CUNY Lehman, St. John's University, SUNY Binghamton, SUNY Cobleskill, and Dowling College.
The United States Department of Education held another GEAR UP competition in 2006 and the successful grantees are; CUNY and Syracuse University.
