Winning public school districts and their annual awards include:

        • Yonkers ($257,985)
        • New Rochelle ($126,000)
        • Rome ($141,750)

Administrative Partners

HESC is working with a number of organizations to help administer the program, including:
        • The College Board
        • Commission on Independent Colleges and Universities
        • New York State Financial Aid Administrators Association
        • State University of New York
        • City University of New York
        • Association of Proprietary Colleges

In addition to the state awards, several other institutional GEAR UP programs have been renewed by the federal government, which include: CUNY Lehman, St. John's University, SUNY Binghamton, SUNY Cobleskill, and Dowling College.

The United States Department of Education held another GEAR UP competition in 2006 and the successful grantees are; CUNY and Syracuse University.
