Did You Know? Some Facts and Statistics about HESC

Things have been active at HESC. Consider some of the following facts:

  • HESC's Customer Communication Center answered 278,822 calls from students, parents and financial aid administrators in 2008
  • HESC training events attracted over 2,100 school personnel, including:
    • 403 trained at HESC Administrative Workshops
    • 187 trained at the HESC Loan Symposium
    • 1351 high school counselors were trained at the NYSFAAA/HESC Guidance Counselor workshops
    • 178 trained at HESC's Administrative Workshop in Puerto Rico
  • Over the past year, HESC conducted in-person financial literacy training at over 50 colleges and high schools and trained over 1,600 students
  • Of the nearly 158,000 TAP applications filed since January 1, 2009, 98% have been filed electronically.
  • For award year 2008/09, HESC has seen a 15% increase in loan volume to date
  • HESC Client Relations and Regional Service staff visited 366 campuses and attended 55 NYSFAAA regional meetings in calendar year 2008
