HESC Offers Comprehensive Entrance And Exit Materials

Anne Doyle

HESC is committed to working in partnership with schools to keep students aware of their rights and responsibilities as borrowers. An important time to provide this information – and meet requirements mandated in the HEOA – is at the counseling sessions with students as they begin and end their college experiences.

HESC provides thorough Entrance and Exit Counseling Packages for schools to use to provide this vital information to students. Schools may opt to perform interviews via the internet through Mapping Your Future, which is accessible through HESC.org, or conduct them in person or by mail using HESC publications which can be obtained through HESC.org.

Our Entrance Interview publications include:

  • our brochure, Smart Borrowing and Your Financial Future, which provides key information students should know before taking a loan for college;
  • a new, downloadable Entrance Interview Form, available on HESC.org, which schools complete to provide required school-specific information to their students;
  • our FFEL Loan Borrower Triplicate Form.

Our Exit Interview publications include:
  • our brochure, Paying Your Loan is Serious Business, which helps students transition from being in school to paying back their student loans;
  • a downloadable, customizable Exit Cover Letter;
  • our FFEL Loan Borrower Triplicate Form.

However a school chooses to conduct its interviews, HESC is a strong partner, providing the tools necessary for effective Entrance and Exit Counseling.
